Skull Mini Album

This is the front of the skull album.

The picture of the left is when Courtney was a clown.  She was only four years old in this picture.  The picture on the right is of her dress like they did in the1950's with her poodle shirt that her Aunt made for her.

Courtney picked out the paper and colors for this album.

It's been awhile

Hello, Everyone
Well, it's been a while since I post. My mother passed away on August 29, 2009. I just remembered that I haven't posted her passing on here. I don't really have much to say except that I miss her so very much. My heart aches and hurts for my mother. Some days I don't know if I'm going to make it through another day. I just wanted to let some of you know that reads my blog why I haven't posted in a while. Take Care and God Bless You!
P.S. If you are blessed enough to still have your mother with you take advantage of each day, hour and minute, you have with her. Loosing my mother I lost part of myself and my bestfriend. My life will never be the same.

My Mother's "FAMILY" Mini Scrapbook

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted anything. I just finished a Family Mini Album for my mother, it's like the one I made for my father except it has pictures of my mother, her parents, us girls, her grandchildren and her only great grandson. She should receive it today by UPS. I haven't heard from my sister if she has or not. Wish I could have been there when she opened the box. Here are a few pictures of the mini album I made:
These pictures are of me and my mother on the left and on the right is my mother and my daughter (her first grandchild).

The first picture on the left is my great nephew Jose and my mother's only Great Grandchild. I met him for the first time in June when I went to see my mother in the hospital the first time. He's a little man and cute. He calls my mother "Shivers" (that is her last name). They both have enjoyed each other since my mother has been down in FL.

This picture is of my mother (the tallest person in the picture), her father sitting on the left, and her mother standing beside my mother's father. These are the grandparents that me and my sisters use to go spend summer's with when I was a child. My sisters and I have so many great memories and stories.
This is the front of the mini album, I know you can hardly tell it but it spells out FAMILY. I hope I have atleast one picture of everyone in the album. I don't have alot of pictures of everyone in my family since we all live in four different states.

Few more Pictures of my mini scrapbook album that I made for my father

I'm I on a roll or what??? Here are a few more pictures of the mini album that I did for my daddy. The first picture was taken in 2005 at my Aunt and Uncle's in Cleveland, MS.; in the picture we are all cousins (you can't tell which one is me due to the picture being dark and I had a good tan (I am the third person from the left standing up and my sister, Wendy is the fourth person standing up. The second picture is of my father with two of his brothers (Lawrence and Shake) and the smaller picture is of my father and his brother, Kenneth (who has passed away). The third picture on the left is of my father, me, Charlotte and Carol Beth (two of my sisters - Wendy wasn't born yet) when we alot younger in the 1960's. The picture on the right is of my Pa-Paw and Ma-Maw Shivers not sure what the year was. The fourth picture is of my daughter, Courtney, my daddy and Riley (Wendy's 3rd child he was only about a week or two old I think in this picture). This is my favorite picture of my daddy and Courtney because they are both smiling. My father doesn't smile very much in pictures. The picture to the right is of me, Wendy, Courtney (when she was about 6 weeks old) Carol Beth and Charlotte picture was taken in 1981. I was only 24 years old in this picture; also this was the first time my sisters ever saw Courtney.
Well, now I will be making a family album like this for my mother. Hopefully it will not take me 2 months to finish hers.

Family's Chipboard Mini Album for my Father

These are a few of the pictures of the mini scrapbook album that I finished last night for my daddy's birthday which was March 31. The first picture was taken when I was about 2 or 3 years old (about 50 yrs ago). I am the little girl standing in front of my Ma-maw Shivers. The second picture is of my Ma-Maw Shivers and six of her sons (don't know for sure what year the picture was taken, my father is dark hair little boy holding his little brother's face with his hands (so cute). The 3rd picture is of my father and me when I was about 4 months old (on the left) also in the picture is our dog Duke (who came back on the ship with us from Japan) and the picture to the right is of my father with my daughter at 6 weeks old (Time has gone by it's hard to believe how much). The last picture is the front of the mini album. I am proud of this album even if it did take me more than two months to finish it. I will be mailing it to my father this week after I finished the picture frame that I am decorating with the same scrapbook paper that I used for the album. I'm putting the picture of my daddy, me, Zoe,Wendy and Carol Beth that we took on his 80th birthday or a couple of days after his birthday.
I will try and post some more of the pictures of the album later. I wanted to gone on a put these on my blog because I was so excited that I finished it.

The first card is a card I made for someone that did something for me that was very nice and kind. The person services my car for me. He is a very kind man. He changed the oil in my car for me about two weeks ago and would not accept payment for it. So, I wanted to do something to so my appreciation for that kindness he show to me. He also collects John Deere things that hang in his shop.

The second card I made for a previous student of mine (which we still stay in contact with each other - she is a very special person to me) . Her father passed away and I wanted to make a special card for her.

Please Pray for my Mother

Well, I don't know where to begin. My mother found out about a week ago that she has an infection in her bone marrow (can't spell) in the ankle that she broke back in November 2008. She is still living with my sister, Charlotte and her family in St. Augustine, FL. Well, yesterday my mother got out of the hospital and had to go into another Rehabilitation/Nursing Home for about 6 to 8 weeks. My sister, Charlotte called me about an hour after mother had been there and told me that mother called her to come and get her. Mother has to be in a facility due to her having to have the antibiotic twice a day or either pay $60.00 a day to stay at my sisters house and let Home Health come out to give her medicine in her port. My mother's insurance will not pay for it if she stays at home to do it.

Please pray for my sister and her family, my mother and the rest of my mother's children, because we have got to make some decisions on what to do. Our mother told us that she would "fight us if we put her in a nursing home". We don't know what to do?

Our special guests at National Scrapbook Day

This is Zoe (my girl) she was scared of the flash on LeAnn's camera. She is so sweet and she loves me so much (I'm talking about Zoe :)

This is Belle (my granddog, I was watching her because Courtney was out of town). Belle loves to have her picture made. Belle is a Maltese.
Both Zoe and Belle enjoyed National Scrapbook Day :) They got a lot of attention from LeAnn, Mindy and Cindy.

National Scrapbook Day

Mindy and LeAnn (for right now we work together also)

Mindy, Me and Cindy (sitting)

Me holding the cake

Well, here is our cake that we had made for National Scrapbook Day!!! We had so much fun. LeAnn, Mindy and Cindy came over and we celebrated National Scrapbook Day from 9:00 until after Midnight. LeAnn got the most pages done with 15, I believe and Mindy completed 10 pages, I believe and I can't remember how many Cindy completed. However as for me, I worked on the Bo-Bunny word book "Family" for my father's birthday which was back on March 31. I'll post some pictures later when I finish it. We had the best time. Belle (my daughter's Maltese) and Zoe (my baby girl) were also helping us celebrate NSD. LeAnn took some cute pictues of Belle and Zoe. I will get her so make me a CD with them on it.
Hope everyone that celebrated National Scrapbook Day had a great time.

My Father's 80th Birthday

The first picture is of two of my sisters and me. Carol Beth is standing behind Wendy (she is holding Zoe my baby) and Pam (me). The second picture is Wendy, my Daddy, Carol Beth and me. The third picture is of five of his ten children and also three of his four daughters. The four children in the front are Wendy's (Ann, Taylor, Ava (is sitting in her Pa-Paw's lap) and Riley. Will is standing by his mother, Carol Beth, Wendy then Pam (Me).
These pictures were taken in Pineville, Louisiana at my dad's.
Charlotte and her children Blair and Kasey and Charlotte's grandchild, Jose (Blair's son) did not get to come neither did my daughter, Courtney, or Carol Beth's two girls, Caitlan and Drew.

While I was in Pineville I went to visit my best friend from high school, Cindy and also went to visit someone I use to work with at Alexandria City Court, who is now the City Marshall. I drove around for awhile in Alexandria and in Pineville both have changed a lot in the past 32 years since I moved away in 1977. It's hard to believe that I have lived in Alabama more than half of my life.

I'm in Louisiana

I got to Pineville, Louisiana about 7:30 last night. It was less than an hour after I got to my father's that my youngest sister, Wendy called and told me that her husband, Mike had been in an car accident. Long story short he broke his back in three places and he wasn't wearing his seat beat. Please keep him in your prayers. He is a really good person. He's lucky to be alive. His truck flipped over about two or three times.

I'm actually watching my nephew, Riley age 4 and Ava age 2. Needless to say it's been a very long time since I've watched any children these ages. It also shows I'm really get to old. :)

Just wanted to let ya'll know whats going on with me.

What a weekend

What a weekend! I haven't done anything but, worry about my job and how will I pay my bills or where will I find another job. I've updated my Facebook and played Phase 10 (hand held electronic game). I need to make a birthday card for my father's 80th birthday but can't get in the mood. I have no mojo :( I guess I'll see what tomorrow brings. All I know is that something in my life has got to change. I don't do good when I have time on my hands and to much time to think about all this crap with my job and wondering if I should just give up and put my house on the market and try to sell it. However, then I wonder where will I move to, what will I do with my four dogs. I try to take one day at a time but, it's just so hard not to worry when your by yourself and have no one to fall back on or to help support me. Sorry, this is so depressing but, the truth is the truth.

My Scrapbook Studio

The first picture is where I do my creative thing :) I know it's messy but when you're being creative you can't worry about cleanliness. The project that is on my cutting mat is an butterfly album that was Courtney's Valentine's Gift.

The second picture is of my desk and table. Courtney had my desk and did her creative thing with it, I am going to someday paint it white or maybe another color depending wherever I end up at.

The third picture is of my bookcases and glass top table. If you look close on top of my bookcases are some of my altered art items.

LeAnn, if you look even closer to the right on top of the bookcase is my name spelled out with letters that you made me several years ago.

The first picture was suppose to be the last picture that I upload but, I don't still understand all this stuff. Oh, well atleast you can see my scrapbook room. I have several other pictures but it takes to long to upload more than three.

My scrapbook space use to be in the basement but, I decided to move it up stairs into one of my extra bedrooms. Mainly because my dogs stay in the basement most of the time and the puppies where getting into some of my cardstock and chewing on the corners of the paper. Since, I've moved it upstairs I think I have scrapbook about 3 or 4 times in their. I moved it upstairs just before Christmas I think.

Let me know what you think of my scrapbook room.

I plan on working in their this afternoon after I decided what kind of card I want to make for my father's 80th birthday.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

My favorite picture of Courtney and her grandfather (my daddy)

This picture is my favorite picture of my daughter and my daddy which if you notice the date is March 26, 2005 actually four years ago today. Courtney and I went to my daddy's to see my new nephew Riley (Wendy's only boy and my daddy's second grandson). One of the reasons why this is my favorite picture of the two of them is that my daddy is actually smiling.
Daddy if you see this don't get mad. :)

Scrapbook layout of Zoe

This is a scrapbook page of Zoe when I first got her almost three years ago on April 30. She's my baby girl since I don't have any grandchildren. I know I'm to old to talk about a pet like this but, growing up I never had a pet of my own. (P.S. I forgot to mention Zoe has her own scrapbook. album. :) This is one of three pages that I have done for her.)

Picture of Bailey and Zoe

This is Bailey and Bentley is in the background to the right. These are Zoe's and Little Man Dan's puppies. This is actually their one year old picture :). They are full blooded Yorkies. I just didn't have their ears and tails trimmed or cut due due to not knowing if they would going to make it or not. Bailey is so sweet. He looks alot like Zoe when she was younger. Sorry, I'm still learning how to put pictures on my blog. Zoe is the one with the red bow in her hair.

Sunday, March 22, 2009

Here I am with two of my scrapbooking friends/co-workers (LeAnn & Mindy). This picture was taken last year while we were at a conference in Mobile,AL. This is just a thought maybe if we hadn't had that conference and spent all that money they would not have to lay off about 70% of the employees. But, that just my thought :)

I'm sitting here with all four of my dogs laying all over me. Well, the days are counting down, just little over a month I will be unemployed.
I wish I could get this off my mind. I can't even scrapbook for thinking about this.
Last Monday my students in my group started a scrapbook of themselves. I told them this was my goodbye gift to them. They will still be working on them this week. They are really enjoying doing this. I will miss my students.
I've been looking for Phase 10 card game online to play but, could not find one. I like to play Phase 10 so long as I'm winning :).
Well, I don't guess I have much to say. Hope everyone has a good and BLESSED week.

Hello, Everyone

It's been awhile since I've added to my blog. I've had a lot of stuff going on in my life. I found out on March 4, that I and everyone I work with will be laid off as of April 30. I am going to miss most of the people I work with. I am trying to not worry about it but, it's hard since I have to work to pay my mortage and all my other bills.

Monday, February 2, 2009

Well, it's been a while since I've been on here. I was going to put a picture of a card that I made but, I don't know how to without importing pictures off my camera that I have already put on my computer. So, I don't guess you will be able to see the cute baby card that I made. Well, I take that back some of you have seen it if you work with me and if you were at Vickie's Crop this past Friday night.

I am presently working on a scrapbook for a previous student which I hope to be finished with in a week or so. I want to get back to the project that I have started for my daughter for Valentine's Day (which is next Saturday). Well, I hope everyone has a great week.

Friday, January 23, 2009

The second picture was taken on New Year's Day, when my daughter, Courtney went with me to take my mother to meet my sister, Charlotte and her family (who live in St. Augustine, Florida). Charlotte is the blond on the far right. My daughter is on the left and that's me in the middle holding on to my mother's wheelchair. This was one of the hardest things that I have had to do in a long time; was leaving my mother with my sister because my house is not wheelchair accessible and that I don't have anyone to sit with her while I work. I was about to start crying when my niece took the picture.

The first picture is of my mother, my nephew, my niece, my daughter and my other niece taken on New Year's Eve in my living room. My two niece's and nephew live in Houston, TX. (their mother is my sister Carol Beth)
Now that I have confused everyone. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thursday, January 22, 2009

This is my first scrapbooking on canvas that I did for a friend/co-worker sixty birthday. I had the best time working on this. I want to do one for my mother, father and my daughter.

Monday, January 19, 2009

Today I have been trying to start a new art journal. But, I look on-line at all these others that are really good I just think why even try I will never be that good.

I did finally find the "Art Journaling" magazine that I have been looking for. The magazine is very informative.

Well, it's off to work tomorrow it doesn't seem like I've had any time off. I guess it's because I drove back and forth from my home to where my mother lived which is 70 miles one way. Oh, by the way I have moved all my mother's stuff out of the apartment. Maybe, now I can get back to my art journal, scrapbooking, making cards and altering something.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Friday, January 16, 2009

Well, I'm almost finish moving my mother's stuff out of her apartment. Tomorrow I'm having a yard sale inside my mother's apartment. This is the second time I've had to move my mother out of her house/apartment. I'm hoping to be able to get back to some fun stuff like scrapbooking, making some kind of art and workin on my blog. I want to put some pitures of things that I have made on my blog. Maybe soon. Well, here is a picture of something I did.

Monday, January 12, 2009

Sorry it's been awhile I've been busy moving my mother out of her apartment. My daugther, Courtney has helped me and my exhusband has helped also, which that has been very special to me. Courtney found some journals that my mother has been writing in that I didn't even know about. Here is a picture of my mother, Courtney and me at the rehab. center on Christmas night. Oh, also Belle is in it too (Courtney's dog and my grand dog).
